Welcome to St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Pinjarra-a Catholic school of excellence where every child is known.
Established in 1934 by the Sisters of St Joseph, our school has a proud tradition of faith, learning and community. Inspired by the legacy of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, we nurture the spiritual, academic, emotional, social and physical development of every child within a Christ-centred environment.
We are a co-educational parish primary school serving approximately 240 students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year Six. Our strong partnership with St Augustine’s Parish enriches our sacramental programs and faith life, with active involvement from our Parish priest, Fr Robert Romano.
At St Joseph’s, we deliver a contemporary, high-quality curriculum through a variety of teaching practices that engage students in meaningful and effective learning. Our programs are grounded in the Religious Education Units of Work, the Western Australian Curriculum and the Early Years Learning Framework. Our approach is flexible and responsive, incorporating play-based learning, explicit instruction and inquiry-based methods to meet the diverse needs of our learners.
We are proud to offer specialist subjects including Physical Education, Health, Science, The Arts and AUSLAN, alongside enrichment opportunities that support holistic growth. Student wellbeing is a priority, supported by initiatives such as the Berry Street Education Model, URStrong and Restorative Practices.
Our school is part of the Affordable Schools initiative, ensuring that all educational costs-including student resources, excursions and celebrations-are capped at under $1 per day. This commitment to affordability reflects our dedication to accessibility and equity for all families.
Our School Advisory Council and Parents and Friends Association work closely with us to foster a vibrant, faith-filled community. Together, we live out our school motto: Faith and Trust-developing our relationship with God and building a harmonious environment that reflects His love.
